Small but Mighty
I joined Kiwanis as a Member of Circle K International while attending Trent University in order to connect with my new community. I quickly fell in love with Kiwanis and the organization's focus on helping children thrive.

Many communities lack the resources they need to help their children grow and succeed. Kiwanis aims to assist our youth in gaining access to the tools they need in order to become the strong, healthy leaders of tomorrow.
​
Kids need compassion. Kids need to feel supported. Kids need leaders and cheerleaders,
mentors and role models, advocates and allies.

and proud, lifelong Kiwanian.
I am Greg.
I am seventy-six years of age and have been a Kiwanian (with one ten year pause) since my early twenties.

As Club Secretary, I see the many positive impacts of our Club, whether it be our benefit to the community or the social involvement of our members.
​
Friendship and satisfying volunteer service is the combination that I enjoy as a member of the Kiwanis Club of Scott's Plains.
We have an amazing group of like minded, down to earth people that like to have fun raising money to help make a difference in children's lives.
​
Our children are the future, so for me being a Kiwanian is very special.
It gives me the opportunity to help our youngsters in many different ways, in ways I never thought possible, both in our community and all around the world.

This is an amazing organization! I am thankful to be a part of it.

I joined the Kiwanis Club of Scott’s Plains in November 2019 after attending a few meetings on behalf of my place of work, YWCA Peterborough Haliburton. The members were so friendly, open and welcoming. The group was very enthusiastic about helping children in our community in so many ways.
It touched my heart and I knew I wanted to be part of it!

Children have always had a special place in my heart. I was a Girl Guide leader for 6 years helping girls build confidence, leadership skills, self-esteem, respect for themselves and others. Our goal was to empower every girl to realize her own strengths and potential and not be held back by outdated social expectations. Children are the future and I am thrilled to be part of a global organization dedicated to improving their lives.
I encourage anyone and everyone to join us on our mission to help children and youth in our own community grow to be the amazing individuals of our future.
I joined the Kiwanis Club of Scott Plains just this year ~2021~ after my best friend Tina told me all the great things the club does for children and youth. I knew right away I wanted to be part of this team.
I was a leader for the junior curling program for more than 10 years and it was very exciting watching the children and youth learn and grow.
It feels wonderful to know you are part of an organization that helps to make a difference in it's community.

Hi, my name is A.J. McNaught.
I am a devoted and enthusiastic member of Kiwanis. As a Kiwanian, I join with a worldwide community of citizens united because of a shared concern for the well being of children. In a world where there are so many challenges facing our children and their families, I deeply appreciate that we provide and develop support resources for the personal, intellectual, spiritual, social, and citizenship growth of our children – locally & globally.
